Visual Studio .NET, and VB6 Professionals
Hi Everyone,
We
hope you are enjoying the holiday season and the close of a challenging
year on an upswing.
Special thanks to Graham Seach, the organizer of the Office DevCon 2009
conference, and the wonderful attendees who I met during the event in
Brisbane, Australia. It was an amazing experience meeting so many
friendly people in our community Down Under.
We are very pleased to announce that Total Visual SourceBook 2007 is now

updated lines of code to take advantage of the new features in Access

you can add the code royalty-free into your applications.
With Total Visual SourceBook 2007, our product line including all our
suites, completely supports Microsoft Access 2007.
In this newsletter, we're providing many tips related to queries. We hope
you find our products and these resources helpful to your development

Query Tip: Finding
Records in One Table but Not Another with
“Not In” Queries
When querying data from
multiple tables, we usually use Inner Joins to link
records with values that exist in both tables. But
what if we need to find records that exist in one
Microsoft Access table but not the other? If
you're not familiar with creating and using "Not In" queries, this paper
is a must read!
Delete Query and SQL Syntax in Microsoft Access
Here's a new paper on
DELETE query syntax in Microsoft Access. In addition to
the basics of deleting data and the SQL for DELETE queries,
and examples, we cover an interesting situation when DELETE
queries fail with this message: "Could not delete
from the specified tables". This error only appears
interactively and does not trigger an error in VBA. Watch
out!
Update Query and SQL Syntax in Microsoft Access
Here's a new paper on
UPDATE query syntax in Microsoft Access. In addition to the basics
of updating data and the SQL for UPDATE queries, and examples, we cover
issues related to when update queries fail and some workarounds.
Simulating the
Microsoft Access Runtime during Development
The Microsoft Access 2007 runtime version is FREE and allows you to distribute your
Access applications to users who do not have a full license of Access.
Because of the differences, it is important to ensure that your
application works properly in the runtime environment prior to
deployment. Microsoft Access makes it easy to simulate the runtime
environment using the /runtime command line. By testing your
application in this environment, you can find
runtime-specific
problems before deploying your application.
