MICROSOFT
SHOWCASES FMS YEAR 2000 TOOL AT TECHNET BRIEFINGS
WASHINGTON, DC May 13, 1999
Microsoft® (NASDAQ: MSFT) has selected FMS' popular Microsoft Access
Year 2000 program,
TOTAL
ACCESS INSPECTOR 2000, to showcase during its internationally-scheduled Year
2000 TechNet briefings this summer and fall. Over 130 cities in the US and abroad will
participate, and TOTAL ACCESS INSPECTOR 2000 is the only Microsoft Access
Year 2000 tool included in the tour.
Microsoft Access is the most popular
Windows database. As the most comprehensive Year 2000 tool available for Microsoft Access,
TOTAL ACCESS INSPECTOR 2000 inspects Access databases to detect specific
date-related problems and potential date usage. Extensive information on finding and
fixing Year 2000 related problems is included, and more than 50 output reports are
generated to reveal Year 2000 issues in Access databases.
In preparation for the national tour,
Microsoft invited Luke Chung, FMS president and founder, to demonstrate TOTAL
ACCESS INSPECTOR 2000 at the TechNet preview program in Washington, D.C. today.
The enthusiastic audience learned a great deal about Year 2000 issues in Microsoft Office
and Access, and was quite impressed with the product and how it helps them address their
daunting Year 2000 tasks.
"We are extremely proud that
Microsoft selected TOTAL ACCESS INSPECTOR 2000 as the best tool for addressing Year
2000 issues in Microsoft Access databases," said Luke Chung. "It's great to see
Microsoft using the TechNet Year 2000 briefings to warn developers of the risks they face.
Many PC developers still think Year 2000 doesn't apply to them or that it's Microsoft's
fault. In many cases, it's poorly designed and written applications that will fail. We
applaud Microsoft's efforts to educate developers on creating Year 2000 compliant
applications. After all, there's nothing preventing developers from creating non-Year 2000
compliant solutions well into the next century!"
