FMS has collaborated with the Microsoft Visual Studio team since it was in beta in 2001. We've created a wide range of custom software solutions and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products using the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Framework. We've created Windows and web solutions using C# and Visual Basic .NET, and deployed them to cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and to users around the world.
Our track record is impressive, and you can read about some of our custom solutions on our Portfolio page.
We build a wide range of web applications using Visual Studio .NET (ASP.NET) primarily in C# with SQL Server.
Solutions include a wide range of data tracking, analytics, visualization, graphics, reports, data modeling, task tracking, etc.
We can deploy the solution to your host or cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure with separate production, staging and testing slots.
We also create Windows desktop applications with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
These applications enable your users to benefit from the feature-rich Windows environment and integrate with desktop products such as Microsoft Office and other internal programs.
While web-based technologies are great for external users, Windows desktop applications still provide unmatched features, security, and disconnected functionality. They can also be more cost-effective to build especially when linked to other platforms like Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word that can be enhanced by non-programmers.
These applications can also be integrated with web solutions by sharing data stored in SQL Server and SharePoint.
We also have extensive experience creating robust, professional installation programs that conform to Windows standards for installing and uninstalling.
Almost all of our Visual Studio .NET solutions involve databases. We have world class experience building databases that are properly designed to grow with your needs over time, scale to your volume, and provide the data integrity and security you require.
Our .NET solutions usually involve Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Express, plus cloud deployments using SQL Server hosted on Azure.
Depending on our customers' existing systems, we have also created solutions using or integrating with data in Microsoft Access, Oracle, db2, SharePoint, XML, etc.
Microsoft introduced LightSwitch with Visual Studio 2012 and enhanced it with Visual Studio 2013. It was a new platform that let power users and less experienced .NET developers quickly create rich web applications that supported data from SQL Server.
Unfortunately, Microsoft abandoned this technology in Visual Studio 2015 for a variety of reasons such as its dependency on SilverLight technology that Microsoft also stopped supporting.
We've helped organizations enhance their LightSwitch applications to the extent that's possible and helped migrate those applications to standard Visual Studio projects.
