If you would like to disable Balloon tips so you won't have to stop what you are doing to click that little tiny "x", you can edit the following registry key value:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
On the EnableBalloonTips key, set it to 0 to disable it.
If the entry is not present, add the key with the type REG_DWORD, then add the appropriate value. The Range is 0 (disable) or 1 (enable - the default).
