Analyzer Overview
VIENNA, VA – October 1, 2004 – FMS, Inc.
announces the release of Total Access Analyzer for Microsoft® Access
2003. Total Access Analyzer offers comprehensive documentation and
analysis of Access databases to help users and developers create better
solutions with Access. Access is the world’s most popular database
program and part of the Microsoft Office Professional suite.
The most accepted Microsoft Access add-in, Total Access Analyzer has
won every industry “Best Access Add-in” award since 1994. Total Access
Analyzer examines the entire Access database to document individual
objects, cross-reference among objects, extensive code analysis, and
error detection. Not only does it determine where each object is used,
it also detects unused objects and code. In all, Total Access Analyzer
detects over 200 “Best Practices” to flag errors and offer suggestions
and performance tips to help Access users and developers create better
Access solutions.
Total Access Analyzer’s newest improvements and features include:
-
Support for Microsoft Access 2003, version 11
-
Detects 218 different errors, suggestions, and performance tips (up from
166)
-
Improved object cross-referencing and module code analysis
-
Errors, Suggestions, and Performance issues can be flagged as
"Reviewed". The Reviewed status of each item is retained if user
documents the database again to make it easier to see new issues over
time.
-
When viewing Errors, Suggestions, and Performance issues in the
Documentation Explorer, the user open the flagged object to address the
issue with one click.
-
The Application, Data Flow, and Object diagrams can be redrawn to show
the hierarchy of a single object. The redrawn diagram can also be
printed from the Documentation Explorer, allowing the user to print a
report of a single object’s diagram
-
Includes 304 presentation quality reports (up from 297)
“Total Access Analyzer represents the culmination of the best ‘Best
Practices’ in the Access development community,” said Luke Chung, FMS
president and founder. “Over the years, we’ve developed numerous Access
applications. We rely on our own products, namely Total Access Analyzer,
to build those applications correctly. By running Total Access Analyzer
on databases during development and before shipping them, developers
gain powerful insight into eliminating mistakes and preventing errors.
By shipping better databases, Total Access Analyzer saves considerable
time, headaches, and reputations.”
“Total Access Analyzer remains one of the most essential add-ins on the
market for the serious Access developer“, said Mike Gunderloy of
Microsoft Online Certified Professional Magazine
Originally shipped in 1993 for Access 1.1, Total Access Analyzer 2003
is the eighth major upgrade of the product.
