Microsoft 365 Microsoft Office 365 Access Update Version Releases

FMS has worked with Microsoft Access since it was debuted in 1992. Microsoft Office 365 offers continuous updates that occur automatically monthly or every six months depending on your settings. Our team has created this page to list all of the updates that Microsoft released for the Microsoft Office 365 Update Channels.

For a graphical matrix comparing major features among the different Access versions, visit this page:

NOTE: Access 2021 has two different versions depending on whether it is the on-premise (also known as "perpetual" or "standalone") or Microsoft Office 365 subscriptions.

  • Office 2021 - A one-time purchase, meaning you own the copy forever but if you want to use the new features and enhancements, you'll have to purchase the upgrade.
  • Microsoft Office 365 - A annual subscription service that gives users the most up to date security updates, maintenance updates, improvements and access to enhancements.

For more information, visit What's the difference between Microsoft 365 and Office 2021.
